Why Fad Diets are Unhealthy

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

A Natural Weight Loss Diet does not cause any of the
Health problems caused by
Fad Diets or Quick Weight Loss Diets.

Besides the risk of dehydration, there are several
Health reasons that make Fad Diets a risk to your
Health.

The normal source of energy is the carbohydrate,
which has been limited due to dieting so the body will
Burn Fat for energy. So you think Fat Burning is great
but the problem is that the body can not Burn Fat
completely without the present of carbohydrates.

This incomplete Fat Burning process produces
ketones which accumulate in the blood. The only
means for the body to eliminate the ketones  is
via the urine, causing dehydration and the fruit like
breathe that is key sign that a diabetic is in danger.

If the process is not stopped the body can  go into
shock which may lead to body shut down of all the
system and finally death.

This chemical imbalance is similar to what happens
to diabetics who don’t eat every few hours to
maintain their blood chemistry  balance.

Still another problem with the incomplete Fat Burning
is that very little usable energy is produced and you
may feel fatigued and weak.

Another problem can be caused by the Fad Diets,
the wasting away of body muscle. Sure you are
using your muscles everyday so you think that will
keep you in shape, but that’ not why you get
muscle waste.

When the body goes to repair itself proteins are very
important in the process. So while you sleep the body
tries to repair it self using what resources are there.
One source of protein is muscles tissue. This is why
people loose muscle on long time fad diets. The loss
isn’t due to disuse of muscles, atrophy, or decrease
in the size of the muscle but to the body breaking
down the muscles.

The weakness may not be realized until later since
weakness is also seen with the incomplete burning of
fat. There will be an increase in energy as soon as
the carbohydrates are taken into the body but the
recovery will not be at the previous level. It usually
takes time for the results to be seen and then it may
be a major Health issue.

These are a few of the complications caused by
using Fad Diets over a long time. There are still
issues with the immune systems and other organs
of the body that we have not mentioned.

And it isn’t smart to use the Fad Diet and then go on
a regular diet, then back to the Fad Diet, thinking
that you can control the damage. Since you can’t
see the damage how can you asset what you
damage has been done? The body is very good at
adapting to difficulties without causing any great pain.

Lose the weight the same way you gained it over a
period of time. Fad Diets are not safe to use for long
term weight loss, don’t gamble on your Health and
lifestyle for a quick fix that will only cost you
your health in the long run.

Natural Weight Loss is the safe and Healthy Way
to Lose Weight.

Using Fad Diets or Quick Weight Loss Diets

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

When do you want to use a Fad Diet or Fast Weight Loss Diet?

Since this type of Diet provides a quick weight loss, the only reason to use it is when you need to lose a few extra pounds for a special occasion. If you buy that special dress for a big event and a month later you find it is a little too snug, go on a Fad Diet. Since the purpose is to fit into the dress for the special event and not a long range goal. To lose any weight on a permanent basis you need to use a method that will keep the weight off while staying Healthy.

Why do Fad Diets work?

Most Quick Weight Loss Diets limit the amount of carbohydrates taken into the body. The carbohydrates supply the body with glycogen which store water. When the body loses the glycogen, the water is also lost which you see as weight loss. You should notice that you void (pee) alot when you are on a Fad Diet. It is not due to your body flushing out waste or toxics from your system: it is your body losing water.

You will also start to have a thirst which is the body message that it needs water.

Some facts about water and the human body:

60% of the human body is water

70% of the brain is composed of water

83% of human blood is water you need to replace 2.4 liters of water daily

This is the reason for the rule of three days without water while you can go much longer without food. Drinking water helps the body to function efficiently.

As soon as you stop the Diet and start to eat carbohydrates the body will store water and you will gain back the weight quickly. This is what causes the yo-yo affect of Fad Diets. The problems is that you usually gain back more weight than you lost.

Fad Diets can cause unforeseen Health Problems if used frequently and over a long period of time. Losing weight is a time commitment not a quick fix job. It took time to gain the weight take time to loss it with a proper balanced Diet, exercise and water, not some Quick Weight Loss Diets so you avoid Health Problems later.

Overeating:Bad Habit Learned As A Child

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

As a child our believes are influenced by what our
parents tell us. Eating habits are learn at a young
age, such as it is wrong to leave food on your plate.
When you grow older, you don’t leave food on your
plate because you believe it is wrong if you do.

Since children usually eat smaller amounts of
food at one time, many parents worry about
their child getting sufficient amount of food.
The child is told "eat all your food, there
are kids who don’t have anything to eat".

This leads to a guilt feeling in the child and he
eats all the food placed on the plate.

When you get older, you still have this
subconscious belief. You become full before
you eat all your food, but your old believe of
not eating all the food makes you feel guilty so
you finish eating the food.

You need to realize that this belief may have been
valid when you where young but not now. It is not
good for your health because that little extra food
that you take in will add more weight over a
period of time.

If you can’t break the habit mentally, try one of
the following tricks:

Fill up your plate only once, don’t get seconds.

Use a smaller plate to limit the amount of each
food, thus you can have all the food but in
smaller amounts.

Parents try to instill good eating habits in their
children. But what you learn as a child may not
be the best for you when you get older. Leaving
food on your plate may be a healthy choice to
overeating to clean your plate.
