Weight Loss And Sleep

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

In today’s go-go and do everything world we may not
only be fat but also tired.

How many times have you heard news reports of
people falling asleep while driving and causing wrecks?

Adults need to sleep 6-8 hours a day to stay healthy
and function properly.

The idea that we don’t sleep enough seems to be
everywhere but people don’t listen. Some how we
are missing the message.

There are four things the body needs to survive,
oxygen, water, food and sleep. Without these the
body can not function properly and becomes
Unhealthy.

Many people while working just reach for a nice
calorie laden snack – chips, cookies and candy bars,
or another cup of coffee for a quick perk me up and
return to work. But this type of substitution only
causes unforeseen problems later.

You don’t need those extra calories and what harm
are you causing to your body’s systems?

Scientist have known and studied the circadian
cycle of the body for years. When you deny your
body sleep, you disrupt this cycle.

Instead of the body sleeping and repairing cells and
tissues you are forcing it to digest food, the mind is
working over time instead of relaxing, and the wrong
hormones are at work. The signals of the body are
getting all messed up.

You are not only running down your body, you’re
also getting your hormones confused. You will
produce more hormones to promote hunger and
less hormones to give the full feeling. That is why
you are not able to stop eating and never feel full.

And bright and early the next morning you think I just
slept for 4 hours why do I feel so bad??? So you go
and add another cup of coffee with a snack to
the mess.

Next time you deny yourself the necessary sleep
remember your Health and Weigh Loss may depend
on your sleep.

Using Fad Diets or Quick Weight Loss Diets

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

When do you want to use a Fad Diet or Fast Weight Loss Diet?

Since this type of Diet provides a quick weight loss, the only reason to use it is when you need to lose a few extra pounds for a special occasion. If you buy that special dress for a big event and a month later you find it is a little too snug, go on a Fad Diet. Since the purpose is to fit into the dress for the special event and not a long range goal. To lose any weight on a permanent basis you need to use a method that will keep the weight off while staying Healthy.

Why do Fad Diets work?

Most Quick Weight Loss Diets limit the amount of carbohydrates taken into the body. The carbohydrates supply the body with glycogen which store water. When the body loses the glycogen, the water is also lost which you see as weight loss. You should notice that you void (pee) alot when you are on a Fad Diet. It is not due to your body flushing out waste or toxics from your system: it is your body losing water.

You will also start to have a thirst which is the body message that it needs water.

Some facts about water and the human body:

60% of the human body is water

70% of the brain is composed of water

83% of human blood is water you need to replace 2.4 liters of water daily

This is the reason for the rule of three days without water while you can go much longer without food. Drinking water helps the body to function efficiently.

As soon as you stop the Diet and start to eat carbohydrates the body will store water and you will gain back the weight quickly. This is what causes the yo-yo affect of Fad Diets. The problems is that you usually gain back more weight than you lost.

Fad Diets can cause unforeseen Health Problems if used frequently and over a long period of time. Losing weight is a time commitment not a quick fix job. It took time to gain the weight take time to loss it with a proper balanced Diet, exercise and water, not some Quick Weight Loss Diets so you avoid Health Problems later.

How To Lose Weight:Take Time To Eat

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

In todays’ face pace work environment, you are
overloaded with work. It seems there isn’t enough
time to do everything, so it is easy to set things
aside. Many people do just that by skipping eating
time. When they finally grab a few minutes to eat,
the food is just "shoveled in" and "gulped down".

Even worse, they try to eat while finishing that
overdue report, ending up with a bad report and
not eating all the food. A short time later when
the upset stomach is felt, they take a "relief pill".
How can you avoid this from happening to you?

Take time to eat!

You need to have food. Empty stomaches do not
provide nutrients for energy or normal body
functions. Your thinking becomes clouded and you
can’t perform at your best level. If you must
postpone eating, try drinking a glass of water. The
water will stop the hunger pains for a short time
and give the added benefit of helping to cleanse
the system.

The best thing to do is take time to eat, not just
to "shovel food" into your mouth.

Try to leave your desk or area of work so your
mind can get a needed rest. Eat slow and chew
your food. The digestion process starts in the
mouth with food being broken down and enzymes
mixing with food. The benefits will be a clearer mind,
and a happier stomach.

You don’t think a car would run without any gas in
the tank, why do you think you can function without
nourishment in your system?

To perform at your best level you need to take time
to eat. By taking time to eat you will Lose Weight
the natural way.
